                                    Why Raw?

                      Biologically Appropriate Raw Food

Does your dog or cat struggle with allergies, hot spots, dull coat, obesity, diabetes, urinary tract infections,  inflammatory bowel disease, ear infections, etc?  Our pets are overfed but undernourished.  Low grade commercial pet foods are the cause of a lot of health problems in our pets.

A biologically appropriate raw food diet consists of whole raw foods similar to what is eaten by animals in the wild.  Biologically appropriate foods contain such things as muscle meat, fat, organ meats, vegetables and fruit materials. A healthy well balanced diet along with good daily exercise is the key to a happy and healthy pet.

When biologically appropriate food is fresh, natural, raw, uncooked, and unprocessed it is packed with the essential nutrients and vitamins our animals want and need.  Raw food is filled with natural enzymes necessary for proper digestion.  Raw foods ensure digestive balance from food breakdown to assimilation and excretion.

Benefits of a Biologically Appropriate Raw Food Diet:

  • Plaque and tarter buildup on the teeth is eliminated and breath is improved, leaving your dog with health teeth and gums.

  • No more itchy and scaly skin conditions associated with allergies giving your dog a shiny, soft full bodied coat.

  • Chronic ear infections are eliminated.

  • Smaller firmer stool, chronic diarrhea often disappears and odor is significantly reduced.

  • Your pet's weight will self regulate and be brought into line, giving your dog a muscular toned body.

  • Immune system will be strengthened and function at its peak performance.

  • Your dog will be less nervous, have more energy and be more in balance with its natural environment.

  • Your pet's overall health and well being will dramatically improve.

Important Tips When Handling Fresh Raw Pet Food

When feeding pets any fresh food, cooked or raw, it is important to follow good food handling practices to prevent bacterial contamination:

  • Thaw food in the refrigerator.

  • Always keep / store food in the refrigerator.

  • Keep raw pet food away from other foods in your refrigerator, especially those foods you will not cook.  Put your pet food on the bottom shelf of your refrigerator.

  • Feed food within 3-4 days of thawing.  Refreeze any food you won't serve in 3-4 days.

  • Wash your pet's food bowl after every feeding.

  • Do not let children handle food bowls.

  • Wash your hands after every feeding.
